The Capri was designed by the European division of Ford Motor Company as a response to the huge success of the Mustang in the United States. It was supposed to be an inexpensive, relatively quick and, crucially, extremely good looking sports car. It was unveiled at the European Motor Show Brussels in January 1969 and went on sale in the very same month. It shared many of its mechanical components with the run-of-the-mill Cortina, which helped keep the cost of production and thus retail prices down. In its first year on sale Ford sold quarter of a million Capris. Two main markets were the United Kingdom and Germany. Models sold in Germany were very different to the ones sold in the UK, mostly in terms of brakes and suspension components. Capri was powered by a front mounted, longitudinal 1600 cc engine, which produced 64 BHP. The power was sent to the back wheels.

1973 Ford Capri 1600 GT presented here is an attractive proposition for those who look for a classic GT car from the 1970’s. All the vital mechanical components have been fully restored, as well as the bodywork and interior. Current owner has had a set of seals replaced. The car’s underbody and closed sections have also been protected against rust. After completion of the restoration process the car is being regularly driven and keeps wrapping up kilometers without any issues. It is registered and it has a valid Polish MOT and insurance.
